Anne DeRienzo, CPA Audit Partner
Anne DeRienzo, CPA is a graduate of Pace University and life long resident of Orange County. She started the firm with Jerome Rossi in 1988 and serves as the firm's Tax and Audit Partner. Her passion for her profession and pursuit of excellence is evidenced by the high quality of her service to clients. Her clients testify to her diligence and commitment of extraordinary client service, in the way she keeps promises to clients, even under tight deadlines and other difficult circumstances. She has been a practicing tax accountant, small business advisor and non profit auditor for 25 years.
Anne specializes as an auditor of nonprofit community based organizations, fire districts and churches. She has helped these clients from inception to dissolution including review of policies and board governance, such as developing audit committee charters, conflict of interest policies and accounting manuals. She regularly assists clients with budgeting, cash flow projections and analysis of financial statements
Anne is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the New York State CPA Society and is a Quickbooks Pro Advisor. She is active in many community and professional organizations and has previously served on the Board of Literacy Volunteers and Union Church.
Jerome Rossi, CPA Taxation/Representation Partner
Mr. Rossi is one of two founding partners of DeRienzo and Rossi, CPA’s (1988) Jerome Rossi was born in Queens, New York and relocated to New York’s Hudson Valley in 1986. He gained his initial experience working as an auditor for a mid-sized CPA firm located in New York City’s garment district, in midtown Manhattan. He holds a Bachelor of Arts from The City University of New York, Queens College in accounting with a minor in computer science. Mr. Rossi has been licensed in the State of New York to practice as a Certified Public Accountant since May 1988 and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, New York State Society of CPA’s and the National Association of Tax Professionals. Mr. Rossi is a general securities registered representative with Series 7 & 65 securities license conducting business through Century Securities Associates, a division of Stifel Nicolaus. Mr. Rossi has served on various boards of directors local to Orange County, NY, including The Orange County Chamber of Commerce and is a founding director of the local county leadership organization- Leadership Orange. His sub-specialties include representing both individuals and businesses’ before the Internal Revenue Service and the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance for examinations, noncompliance and collections.
Douglas Mason Senior Auditor
Douglas Mason began his accounting career here at DeRienzo & Rossi, CPA's as an intern where he began acquiring his real world experience beyond his formal education. After several tax seasons and interim summer periods, Doug was eventually placed on the firm’s full time staff as a junior accountant in 2006. Today, Doug specializes in the audits of several of the firm’s not-for-profit organizations, which include churches, fire districts and community based charitable organizations.
Doug attended Keystone Oaks High School located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and Waynesburg University before moving to New York and completed his undergraduate education at Mount Saint Mary College where he received his Bachelor’s of Science degree. Doug is currently perusing his MBA at Mount Saint Mary College and is a CPA candidate.
Maria Spiliotis-Davis Senior Accountant
Maria Spiliotis-Davis, Senior Accountant, a native of Newburgh, NY, has been with DeRienzo and Rossi, CPA’s for over 10 years, and is a CPA candidate. Maria specializes in individual & corporate tax planning and preparation as well as works in the firm's Tax Representation division with individual and corporate clients on examinations of and non-filing matters. Prior to joining DeRienzo & Rossi, CPA's, Maria was employed by the Bank of New York.
Maria graduated Marist College, Poughkeepsie and received a Bachelor of Science in Finance, as well as a certificate in Paralegal studies. She also graduated Mount Saint Mary College and received a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. Maria is a member of the National association of Tax Professionals, the New York State Society of CPA’s and the National Women In Network Association.
